Hullo! So I’ve never participated in a readathon. I knew about them but I never thought I could do it and that it’s too stressful for me. I didn’t even care about this one until 5 minutes ago when I was binge watching Katytastic‘s videos. I knew this readathon was happening because of the billion TBR videos for it but Kat was the one who really got me interested in it. So I did some research and I realised this shouldn’t be so stressful as I thought it will be. I don’t have school, I’m bored 24/7 and I’m in a reading slump so why the heck not try this out?
So here I am, making a TBR list for which I’m 95% sure I won’t follow. I was intending to read these books this summer anyways but then this stupid reading slump happened. Hopefully it’ll pass before next week. This is just something fun though, something for me and I hope it won’t get into my head that I MUST complete all the challenges (because I often like to do that). There’s no way I’m going to read 7 books in 7 days so I mixed it up a bit.
So maybe some of you don’t know what BooktubeAThon really is. It’s a readathon created and hosted by Ariel Bissett. People (or I guess I should start using ‘we’, right?) try to read as much as possible in 7 days. This year it’s from 24th to 30th July – it’s starts on midnight where you live. There are challenges – for reading, for booktube and for bookstagram. There’s even a giveaway. In conclusion: it’s gonna be fuuuuun.

The 2017 Reading Challenges:
1) Read a book with a person on the cover
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
2) Read a hyped book
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
3) Finish a book in one day
The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis
4) Read about a character that is very different from you
I guess I could go with The Hate U Give for this one too. But if I’ll feel brave and daring, I’m probably going to pick up History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera.
5) Finish a book completely outdoors
I’ll complete this challenge with reading one of these 5 books I mentioned in this post. My mom just bought me an outdoor armchair (on which I slept for 3 hours today) so this shouldn’t be hard for me.
6) Read a book you bought because of the cover
I’m cheating a bit because this isn’t actually my own book. It’s my sister’s and the cover made me steal it from her. It’s not like I don’t buy books because of their covers but I just currently don’t have any interest the ones that I did buy because of that. So I’m choosing Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson & Lauren Myracle.
7) Read seven books
Lol, nope :’D As I said before, this is just for fun and If I make through at least one book, I’m going to be happy.
Are you going to participate? If so, what is your TBR?
